Yahoo! VoIP gets little buzz- on Yahoo!

Yahoo! Research and O'Reilly have been teaming up for awhile to produce a Buzz Game where "investors" "buy and sell" "shares" in companies, search terms, entertainers, what have you- based on how much buzz they think these entities will spur.

The collective enthusiasm- or lack of it- is expressed in "trading prices," as well as a "buzz" score based on searches for the entity and related items.

As you can see at the top of this post, Skype is the clear winner at the moment.

Interesting that "YVoIP" (Yahoo! Voice and Dialpad), trails signficantly. Not so much on price, but on Buzz.

Makes you wonder why Yahoo!'s own VoIP product is not scoring better on Yahoo's own search results. My guess: Skype and Vonage are better-known, more established entities, while the ultimate go-to-market service model for Yahoo! VoIP is still being developed.
