Bluetooth group chooses WiMedia UWB for faster transfers
In April 2006, the Bluetooth Special Interest Group said it would use WiMedia ultra-wideband technology in a next-generation Bluetooth specification.

The group expected the combination to support larger data transfers and richer audio or video use while keeping compatibility with low-power Bluetooth devices such as keyboards, mice and headsets. The target for the specification was the first quarter of 2007.
Context and limits
