For a licensed cruising taxi, confirm the Chinese destination, use the regulated meter and ask for the fare ticket. National rules require fare-equipment use, valid receipts and change; keep small RMB notes as a fallback.

DiDi is optional. The 2025 national guide describes foreign-number and international-credit-card registration, not tested acceptance of your exact number or Russian card. Confirm pickup, vehicle, displayed charging basis and payment method before boarding.

Ask hotel reception to help arrange a licensed ordinary taxi and a return meeting point; confirm cash settlement for that ride, not an app order. Keep already-booked Haikou airport/hotel transfers unchanged. A private advance-agreed transfer is separate from a metered street taxi.

For an independent Suvarnabhumi arrival, AOT places public-taxi counters and ticket machines on floor 1 between gates 4 and 7; confirm the vehicle and fare basis before departure.

Separate a running meter, an app quote or estimate, and an agreed private transfer. AOT documents meter and agreed-price arrangements in its stated Suvarnabhumi context, with passenger-paid tolls. Ask what extras are included; do not apply Bangkok airport rules to all island services.

AOT identifies Grab pickup at Suvarnabhumi terminal level 1, gate 4. Match the booked driver and vehicle and read the fare screen. This airport arrangement does not prove registration with your foreign number, acceptance of your card or an available island fleet.

For Samui, Phangan or Tao, our recommendation is to ask the hotel to help arrange a ride if an app is unavailable. Confirm private or shared service, price per vehicle or passenger, luggage, waiting, return and the exact ferry pickup. Agree the cash arrangement first; a hotel-assisted fallback is a plan, not a tested guarantee.

Check the exact device model, purchase region and carrier lock before choosing an eSIM. Apple requires an unlocked iPhone for another carrier abroad. True and dtac tourist terms require a valid passport and restrict devices and commercial use; do not infer hotspot permission or hotel coverage.

Treat purchase, profile installation, scheduled activation and first network attachment separately. Ask the provider what starts the exact package validity; tourist SIM expiry cannot simply be extended by top-up.
